• Jared's prequel series Walker: Independence has been given a pilot order. Set et in the 1800s, the series is from Walker creator/executive producer/showrunner Anna Fricke and executive producers Seamus Fahey, Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberatore. The show is described as follows:

Abby Walker, is an affluent Bostonian whose husband is murdered before her eyes while on their journey out West. On her quest for revenge, Abby crosses paths with Hoyt Rawlins, a lovable rogue in search of purpose. Abby and Hoyt’s journey takes them to Independence, Texas, where they encounter diverse, eclectic residents running from their own troubled pasts and chasing their dreams. Our newfound family will struggle with the changing world around them, while becoming agents of change themselves in a town where nothing is what it seems.

Of course, Abby Walker and Hoyt Rawlins are also the names of characters in Walker.

• • Larry Teng has been named to direct the Pilot, and will also act as EP on the show. Filming began in February in New Mexico.

• Misha has been cast as Harvey Dent/Two Face in the Pilot for the DC show Gotham Knights on the CW.

The Winchesters

Having received a script commitment in June 2021, the Supernatural prequel "The Winchesters", will start filming a pilot for the show in April in New Orleans.

• Meg Donnelly and Drake Rodger have been cast to play Mary Campbell and John Winchester. Mary is 19 and described as having "been fighting the forces of darkness since she was a child. After losing someone close to her, the hardened hunter considers quitting the family business — until her father’s disappearance and the arrival of newcomer John Winchester forces her to lead a new team." John has "recently returned from Vietnam, the selfless and clearheaded John Winchester finds a new mission back home, where traces of his father’s past lead him to a secret organization and a whole new war as a hunter."
• The first two series regulars have been cast on the Show. Nida Khurshid will play Latika Desai who is "fiercely intelligent and braver than she believes... a young hunter-in-training whose research and problem-solving skills help her face her fears in battling dark forces. Jojo Fleites will portray Carlos Cervantez an "easygoing and confident, Carlos is a natural when it comes to fighting demons and a boost of positivity for the team as it takes on more serious threats."

Set in the 1970s, the prequel will center on the early life of John and Mary Winchester, with Jensen voicing Dean as the narrator.

The show comes from Jensen and Danneel as Chaos Machine Productions. Jensen and Danneel will executive produce alongside former co-executive producer and writer for Supernatural Robbie Thompson. Jensen said of the project:

“After Supernatural wrapped its 15th season, we knew it wasn’t over. Because like we say in the show, ‘nothing ever really ends, does it?' When Danneel and I formed Chaos Machine Productions, we knew the first story we wanted to tell was the story of John and Mary Winchester, or rather the Supernatural origin story. I always felt like my character, Dean, would have wanted to know more about his parents’ relationship and how it came to be. So I love the thought of having him take us on this journey.”

News and Interviews

• Jenny Klein’s latest show is The Thing About Pam starring Renee Zellweger. Based on the investigation into the murder of Betsy Faria, a case full of twists and turns which is familiar to true crime podcast listeners. It is now airing on NBC.
• Kung-Fu from Christina Kim and Bob Berens has been renewed for a third season. Season 2 is now airing on the CW.
• Adam Glass has a new spy series called "In From The Cold" debuted on Netflix on January 28. It is a spy thriller with a twist In From The Cold from Adam Glass. Filmed in Madrid with an international cast, there's some great bone-crunching fights, and a tightly plotted story that never sags. It’s also great to see an action show starring a woman in her 40s. There's also a subplot about Jenny's spy origin story set in the 90s, with a lovely queer love story as well.

• Jim Beaver has a book club that you can join.
• Hot on the heels of announcement that he was producing a sitcom called Cindy Snow for Fox, Steve Yockey has signed a deal with Warner Bros to develop and create shows across all its platforms including HBO Max. Yockey had huge success with The Flight Attendant, which will return for Season 2 in the spring of 2022.
• Old Henry - western movie featuring Richard Speight - is now streaming on Showtime and is available to rent thru Apple.

Conventions

The big news is that the Creation Entertainment is returning to Hawai'i in November 2023! The last Con in Hawaii was help in November 2017 and was an absolute blast! It also marks a shift in the Convention tour as it is not badged as a Supernatural Convention but is advertised as featuring guest from Supernatural and other Jared and Jensen projects. This obviously opens the Con up to invite actors from Walker, The Boys, and any other projects going forward.
